The Nervous System
Maybe you feel on edge, like you can't relax, can't catch your breath. Stress builds in your body and you feel like a ticking time bomb.
Or, maybe you feel shutdown, like you want to run and hide; stress has you feeling isolated, zoned out, and numb. Did you know that on a subconscious level, we are always looking for safety?
Our individual nervous systems take in cues all around us and interpret them. Our own stories and unique wiring affect how these cues are understood, and directly impact how safe we feel in our bodies and in our world.

Safe and Sound Protocol
What is It?
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a powerful listening therapy designed to help regulate your nervous system.
Using specially filtered music, the SSP sends cues of safety to your nervous system, effectively "retuning" it, so that you can feel better. It can improve your response to stress, emotional regulation, and social engagement. It is five (5) hours total and is completed in small increments over a span of time that is individualized to your needs. “Low and slow” is the idea here, and there is no added benefit to going at a faster pace.
The SSP does NOT require you to focus on previous trauma or negative experiences. Through its stimulation of the vagus nerve, it can provide relief from the symptoms of such. Please watch the video below for a more detailed explanation of the SSP.
Supports many symptoms and conditions
The SSP may be helpful in reducing symptoms and supporting:
Depression and anxiety
Neurodevelopmental differences, such as autism, hyperactivity and attention
Learning difficulties
Sensory processing differences
Trauma history
And more
Works with other therapies
SSP can also be combined with and is supportive of other therapies, including:
Neurodevelopmental treatment, such as occupational therapy, play therapy and sensory integration therapy
Other forms of mental health and trauma therapies, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), and Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other forms of talk therapy (e.g. DBT, MCBT, etc.)
